We have measured the pH of several beverages produced in Korea, in order to classify the cariogenic or non-cariogenic beverages.
158 beverages as yogurts, milks, carbonate drinks, fruit juices, ionized drinks, coffees and collagen fibrous drinks, were selected for measuring with the pH electrometer
We have got the data of the average pH levels as,
3.47 on yogurt, 2.91 on carbonate drink,
3.27 on juice, 3.15 on ionized drink,
6.47 on coffee, 3.37 on collagen fibrous drink, and 4.37 on tea.
It was recommended that companies should try to produce the beverages with less acidic, for protecting the decalcification or erosion of tooth enamel.
